If you've ever been part of a wedding planning process, like some of us at Deedod have, then you know it can be a laborious, expensive, and a time consuming endeavor.  You can spend days, weeks, and even months scouring the web, magazines, and visiting potential vendors. Our friends at 100 Layer Cake had been blogging about everything wedding related for quite some time and realized that there was no central location for people to interact with each other on their wedding planning.  So, with this in mind, they set out to create a centralized community for vendors and users to collaborate together on the planning of their collective wedding adventures.  While the thought of a bunch of brides-to-be interacting with each other about wedding plans might terrify the future husbands, the site has been extremely successful.  Deedod was excited when our friends asked if our team wanted to partner with theirs in providing the development for their new site. There was no thought, our team jumped right in.

The site features lots of interesting functionality including things like vendor listings by category, service requests by users, as well as items for sale from users. In order to facilitate all the site features the Deedod team spent a lot of time working closely with 100 Layer Cake to plan the implementation and tech specifications to perfection, using CakePHP on a LAMP stack.  WIth the implementation of the CakePHP framework and a custom content management system, both Deedod and 100 Layer Cake are able to easily and effeciently update all content areas of the site.

The new site released to great reviews from the community. The participation from both vendors and users has shown steady gains month over month.  The team at 100 Layer Cake has a lot of other great ideas on the horizon so stay tuned for future releases in the coming months.
